Our Product: Black Pellets
Black Pellets are a high-quality solid biofuel produced through the roasting and carbonization of biomass. They offer superior energy density, water resistance, and durability compared to traditional white pellets.
Superior Energy Density
Black Pellets contain more energy per unit weight, making them more efficient to transport and store. They take up less space and are easier to handle.
Water Resistance
High resistance to direct exposure to water and humid weather conditions, enabling outdoor storage and easier transportation.
Durability
Black Pellets produce less dust and fine particles during handling and transportation, making them a cleaner and more reliable fuel source.
Carbon Neutral
As a biomass-based fuel, Black Pellets are carbon-neutral. The CO2 emitted during combustion is offset by the carbon absorbed during biomass growth.
Raw Material Sources: Tropical forests of sub-Saharan Africa, particularly the Congo Basin.
Our Technology
Artemis utilizes advanced thermal pretreatment technologies, including torrefaction and carbonization, to produce high-quality Black Pellets. Our process integrates biomass-based cogeneration to generate the electricity required for production directly from biomass.
Torrefaction
Torrefaction improves the fuel and handling characteristics of biomass, reducing costs in the energy supply chain. Torrefied biomass is a carbon-neutral, high-quality solid biofuel that can replace thermal coal in power plants and industrial boilers.
Gasification
Gasification converts carbonaceous or organic materials into a combustible synthesis gas (syngas), composed mainly of carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2). This process is more efficient and environmentally friendly than traditional combustion.
Cogeneration
Our production process integrates a biomass-based cogeneration unit, generating the electricity required for operations directly from biomass. This ensures energy efficiency and sustainability.
Market Opportunities
The global Black Pellets market is projected to reach USD 5.8 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.5%. Europe dominates consumption, driven by stringent environmental policies and a transition away from coal.
Energy and Power Generation
Black Pellets are primarily used as a renewable energy source in power plants, replacing coal in co-firing and complete combustion systems. This sector accounts for over 50% of market demand.
Industrial Heating
Manufacturing and heavy industry use Black Pellets for high-efficiency, low-emission heating processes. This sector accounts for approximately 20% of demand.
Residential Heating
Black Pellets are used in residential heating systems, particularly in cold regions where biomass is a preferred renewable energy source. This sector contributes approximately 15% of market demand.
Fastest-Growing Markets: Germany, Japan, South Korea, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, Australia
Sustainability & ESG
Sustainable development is at the core of Artemis EcoEnergy International. We are committed to respecting the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and prioritizing environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) principles.
Environmental Benefits
- Carbon Emission Reduction: Biomass energy is carbon-neutral.
- Waste Management: 100% of waste is recovered and processed.
- Zero Waste Concept: All by-products are sold or repurposed.
Economic Development
- Job Creation: Biomass energy projects create jobs in rural areas.
- Revenue Generation: Additional income sources for farmers and industries.
- Local Sourcing: Biomass is sourced locally, reducing dependence on imports.
Energy Security
- Diversification: Reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
- Renewable Energy: Contributes to global renewable energy targets.
- Sustainable Forestry: Encourages responsible forest management.
Carbon Tax Benefits
Black Pellet customers benefit from carbon tax incentives. In 2024, the carbon tax is €70 per ton of CO2 offset. Black Pellets produce significantly lower CO2 emissions compared to fossil fuels:
| Fuel Type | CO2 Emissions (g/kWh) |
|---|---|
| Domestic Fuel Oil | 300 |
| Heavy Fuel Oil | 320 |
| Natural Gas | 234 |
| Coal | 384 |
| Wood (Black Pellets) | 13* |
*CO2 emitted by burning wood is recycled by growing biomass (photosynthesis).
Business Model
Artemis EcoEnergy International is committed to scaling production to meet global demand for Black Pellets. Our business model is built on efficiency, sustainability, and profitability.
